Also, all Olympic boats are now using reversed chines in order to deflect spray downwards and produce a drier running boat, with better tracking and even more stability in tight turns.In our design process, we blend both style and functionality to create a combination of luxury, performance and safety. Computer-aided design (CAD) is used to design the boat and optimise every centimetre to the maximum. Plus, a great deal of time is dedicated to the details that make every new Olympic boat unique.Quality control is performed throughout the entire build process. The lamination process is closely calibrated for ratios of glass to resin, for correct pressures on spraying equipment, for resin temperatures, catalyst percentages and cure time. The 16 HP M2.18 Marine Diesel Engine is crafted for elegance and designed for performance. Developed entirely in-house, our engine is compact, fuel-efficient and powerful. Consequently, our marine diesel engine rivals the best in the market. Over the years, innovations and additions have led to major improvements. Due to its water cooled top cover a lot of radiant heat from the engine is absorbed and dispelled without affecting the engine room. This absorption results in the room temperature staying lower by 15-20°C (reduction of 20%!) when compared to other engines of similar sizes.
Additionally to reduce the noise created by the running engine a casted aluminum top cover was implanted onto the body directly, along with a state of the art air filter, that reduces the engine noise by 5dB(A). When operating at speeds roughly around 2200 RPM the engine runs “nearsilent” ensuring a more pleasant boating experience for you and your crew. It is also worth mentioning that the cover is designed as a step, which makes it easier to move around the engine.
Our 16 HP M2.18 Marine Diesel Engine is equipped with a high output marine alternator as standard. As a result, the batteries recharge very fast.The M-Line engines are also approved to run on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO). This lower-carbon fuel is a more sustainable alternative to diesel and contains low sulfur and aromatics. The use of renewable fuels substantially decreases exhaust emissions by up to 90% in CO2, CO, HC, NOx, and PM.This engine also has a Saildrive compatible version.
